West End United hosted Inter Alanzia 45 for the teams’ first meeting of the season which turned out to be West End’s first solid win so far. Niagell got West End on the board early in the game for his second of the season and Waseem extended the lead to 2 shortly after. Inter responded with a goal of their own and got themselves back into the game. That was short-lived however as Cory restored West End’s 2 goal lead with a very well finished free kick for his first goal since re-joining the team this season. The goals kept coming. Justin extended the lead to 3 goals and Keith made it 5 – 1 with a nice strike into the top right corner of the net. Before the end of the half Justin got his second of the night and the team went into the locker room with a comfortable 6 – 1 lead. In the second half it was a Kevin show as he scored his first two goals of the season to give West End a very comfortable 7 goal lead. Kevin’s second goal was a very good effort between Waseem and Niagell that setup Kevin for a nice first-touch strike that beat Inter’s goalkeeper on the short side. Waseem finished West End’s scoring spree towards the end of the match for his second of the game and it wasn’t until the last few minutes of the match that Inter finally managed to beat Mark again for their second of the night for a final score of 9 – 2. Mark did make some key saves throughout the match to keep West End’s momentum going and not giving Inter any chance for getting back into the game. There were two casualties in the match, Huu and Richard, both with undeserved yellow cards, one each. West End is hoping to build on this win for their next game of the season against Luxur FC 45.
