West End United comes out on top in their first season meeting against Deportivo Real 45. A a tic-tac-toe play between Alberto, Tom and Janusz puts West End on the scoreboard and gives Janusz his second goal of the season. Oscar then adds one more beautifully executing a penalty shot placing the ball of the cross bar past Deportivo’s keeper. A poor hand-ball call gives Deportivo a chance to get back into the game which they do with a very well executed penalty shot of their own. This sways momentum Deportivo’s way somewhat as they apply some good pressure trying to get on event terms. West End’s defense did a great job not allowing many shots through and Mark made some key saves to keep West End’s one goal advantage. With 10 minutes left of the clock Tom setup Paul for his first goal wearing West End colors, a 22-yard rocket into the top left corner of the net finally giving West End some breathing room. In the dying moments of the game a bad midfield change gave Deportivo a few seconds two men advantage which resulted in their second goal of the night for a 3 -2 final score in West End’s favour.
