Fifth game of the season brought some unwelcome news for West End United as German took a really awkward fall in 20thminute of the second half sending the ball into the penalty box and dislocated his elbow. German, being immobilized due to the nature of his injury forced the referee to call the game.  “Just roll off of the field and keep going”- said German with a smile and determination on his face.

As for the game itself, West End played their best ball-movement-control and possession game this season producing a lot of opportunities which Bartek took advantage of scoring 2 great individual goals to put West End in front 20 minutes into the first half.  Unfortunately, some undisciplined play cost West End a penalty shot which PowerPlay FC took advantage of and got themselves back into the game.  West End started the second half bit flat which allowed PowerPlay FC to score their second goal of the game in the 6thminute to tie the game 2 a piece which is how the game ended due to Germans’ injury.  The game was fairly even in possession and chances on goal however West End did seem to have a slight advantage in both categories so it hopefully is a good sign of things to come.  The game also saw the return of Alberto into the lineup, so the team’s lineup is now complete for the upcoming game against Victoria who seems to have West End’s number as they destroyed them in two previous matches last season.
