West End United struggled to reproduce their success from the last two matches as they fall to visiting Powerpaly 5 -1. West End did get on the board first early in the game when Greg’s clearance from outside his own 16-yard box fooled Powerplay’s out of position keeper and ended up between the pipes. “Not pretty, but I’ll take it”, said Greg after the game. Unfortunately, some miscommunication in the defensive line cost West End two quick goals and the early lead. Powerplay’s offense then kept Westend’s defense busy as they struggled to keep their top players in check. Weak midfield play was also evident as Powerplay took and then maintained control to mount their counter attacks. West End did get some good scoring opportunities, but failed to capitalize to try to get some sort of momentum and cohesion going to try to turn the game around.
