After a long, 3-week break, West End United took to the field for the first time in the new year to host the current undefeated division leader, Victoria.  This time the match was much closer than anyone anticipated.  Janusz opened up the scoring for West End finishing a very good cross from Tomasz for his 5th of the season.  Few minutes later Bartek padded West End’s lead to 2 goals receiving a beautiful pass from Oscar beating Victoria’s keeper sending the ball off the post into the back of the net.  Unfortunately, Victoria fought their way back into the game and evened the score before the end of the half.  West End started the second half strong and this time it was Justin, using his speed, stole the ball from the two Victoria defensemen who thought they can just play with him, and buried the ball passed the keeper for his second of the season.  Victoria again came back to tie the game at 3 all and then eventually scored the winning goal to take the game 4 – 3.  West End did come close to tying the game or even taking the win. Bartek charged the penalty area to take a fabulous header which was luckily saved by Victoria’s keeper and Janusz made a great effort using the outside of his right foot beating the keeper but unfortunately hitting a post, a shot everyone thought was going in.
