West End United concedes their first post-season game to Polonia 6 – 4. Bartek got West End on the board first early in the game for his first playoffs goal, but unfortunately Polonia responded with 5 unanswered goals of their own to give themselves a comfortable 4 goal lead by the early stages of the second half. This wasn’t West End’s night defensively as they presented Polonia with 3 of their 5 goals on a “silver platter”. West End did finally close the gap with Bartek’s second of the night, however Polonia restored their 4-goal lead soon after. Not giving up, West End with some creative ball movement setup Nathan for a tap in for his first of the night. Shortly after with some very good pressure in the penalty box Nathan forced Polonia’s keeper to make a hasty clearance which ricocheted off of one of their own defensemen and ended up behind the goal line. Unfortunately, West End failed to capitalize on a few more scoring chances to give the game an interesting finish. Even though the score line does not reflect it, a respectful 70 minutes for West End’s first post-season game with somewhat depleted squad.
